Atoms Win, 4-3, at Northville

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Bethesda Atoms got the win.
The Bethesda Atoms took Northville pitcher Reynaldo Hernández's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Old-Timers Park. The final score had Bethesda getting past the Eclipse, 4-3. Hernández went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 9. Reliever Ryan Burton picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Rodney Craig took the loss.
Bethesda used the timely hitting of Eduardo Gonzáles to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Atoms on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Bethesda manager Tabor de Maria.
The win gives Bethesda a record of 1-1.
