Behind a fine performance from James Sterling, the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs knocked off the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 7-5. Sterling went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Guinea Pigs. With the win, Gwinnett is 1-2.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Gwinnett trailing 5-3, Sterling jumped on a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher David Cole and hit a grand slam home run to right. With one swing, the Guinea Pigs had a walk-off win.
