Burnett, on Top of His Game, Beats Nuevo Mexico, 2-0
|
Rick Burnett had an impressive outing at Mariachi Band Shell, hurling the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Nuevo Mexico skipper John Sirica said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
On the day, the right-handed Burnett yielded 5 hits and tallied 7 strikeouts with 3 walks.
