Gent Excels, But Atoms Win
Frazer Gent did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the St. Petersburg Thunder from being beaten, 10-7, to the Bethesda Atoms at Atoms Field. Gent hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Bethesda reliever Jon Cooper picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jesse MacNamara suffered the loss. With the win, Bethesda is 2-1.

Bethesda first baseman Tucker Horne helped the Atoms go up, 8-7, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Horne hit a run-scoring single off St. Petersburg pitcher Larry Austin.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Cody Blackburn.
