Guinea Pigs Deal Liberty Academy 5-0 Loss
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs downed the Philadelphia Liberty Academy, 5-0, at Liberty Academy Field. Stellar pitching by Brooks Brown had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The loss has the Liberty Academy at 3-1.
Gwinnett used a well-timed hit by Edward Walker to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Guinea Pigs ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Walker after the game.
