The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis locked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, knocking off the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 5-1. On the mound for Nuevo Mexico was right-hander Victor Collins. He played a major role in the triumph. With the win, Nuevo Mexico boosts its record to 1-3.
With two out in the bottom of the fourth, James Rowland put Nuevo Mexico in front, 3-1, with a 2-run single. The Mariachis went on to win the ballgame.
"Victor did what Victor does," said Nuevo Mexico manager John Sirica.
