With left fielder Donnie MacKim leading the charge, the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis defeated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 5-2, at Field of the Rawhides. MacKim was 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Josh Leach. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 4 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Picking up the save was Cooper Jefferson, his 2nd.

With Nuevo Mexico leading 1-0 in the top of the second, MacKim hit a changeup from Gary Fleming for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Mariachis ahead, 3-0.

MacKim called the win "a team effort."
