The Ithaca Fighting Imps topped the Providence Pilgrims, 5-4, in USPL Double A action at Field of Plenty. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ithaca pitcher John Terry. Terry got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 4 runs. Daniel Haney earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Fighting Imps grabbed the lead when Ángel Román rapped a two-out single. Ithaca was trailing 4-3, when Román hit a 2-run single off José Durán to put his team in front, 5-4.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Ithaca manager Albert Pérez.
With the win, Ithaca boosts its record to 4-1.
