Miners Get Past Olympia, 2-1
The Marquette Miners found a way to sneak past the Olympia Ogres, 2-1, in 10 innings. Marquette pitcher Marcus Thomas, for one, had a standout performance. Marquette reliever Darryl Brady snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jorge Mojica shouldered the loss. The win lifts Marquette to a record of 5-0.

Marquette won the game in part because of Francisco Ferreira. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Miners ahead, 2-1. For the game, Ferreira had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Marcus is a gamer," said Marquette manager José Luna.
