Gwinnett left fielder Mac Kenzie had a 5-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 8-3. Brooks Brown picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 7 in 5 innings. Augusto Sousa earned the save for Gwinnett, his 1st of the year.

Gwinnett grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Kenzie hit a 2-run home run off Shawn Brennan. His 3rd home run of the season put the Guinea Pigs out in front, 5-3.
