Mariachis Lose, 5-3, as Turbeaus Rally

The Gulf Coast Turbeaus handed the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis a 5-3 defeat at Mariachi Band Shell. Shortstop Tom Evans starred for Gulf Coast. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to 22-year old left-handed pitcher Kevin Harris in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Curtis López took the loss. Nuevo Mexico falls to 4-2.
Evans had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch curveball from Samuel Morris, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Turbeaus a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Evans.
"We ground out the win," said Evans. "That's all that matters."
