In a tight tilt between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, Rick Burnett was the deciding factor. The Mercer Island right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Gwinnett, with the loss, is 2-4.

Wally Green was the walk-off hero for Mercer Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Screaming Eagles first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Afterward, Screaming Eagles manager Eric Todd was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
