Late Rally by Krewe Locks Up 6-4 Win

The Crescent City Krewe beat the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-4, at Field of the Krewe. Crescent City left fielder Bill Barnes led the way. He went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks. Reliever David Anderson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Tom Scott took the loss. Jeff Fisher sewed up the save, his 1st.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Nick Richardson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Nuevo Mexico pitcher Burt Dickerson, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Crescent City on top, 6-4.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Barnes.
Nuevo Mexico falls to 4-3.
