5-2 Loss to Shredders Extends Ft. Worth Losing Streak
|
The Hollywood Shredders racked up a win at The Cattle Pen, bumping off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 5-2. Bob Kelso, who started for Hollywood, pitched effectively for his team. In 7.1 innings, Kelso surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The slumping Cattlemen have lost 6 straight.
Hollywood shortstop Luis Tañón contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a cutter to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 94th hit of the season and put the Shredders ahead, 3-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Tañón said.
