Fighting Imps Grind Out 1-0 Win
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps faced a tough opponent in Mercer Island pitcher Fernando López, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Imps Park by a final score of 1-0. López went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Matt Dougherty picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Fernando López suffered the loss. Nick Watson earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.
With two out in the bottom of the first, Efren Agpalasin put Ithaca in front, 1-0, with a run-scoring single. The Fighting Imps went on to win the ballgame.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Agpalasin told the Ithaca Bulletin.
The loss has the Screaming Eagles at 3-4.
