The St. Petersburg Thunder picked up a win at Loony Bin, downing the Minnesota Loons, 4-3. On the mound for St. Petersburg was right-hander Alfonso Escamilla, who played a pivotal role in the win. Ed Wheeler nailed down his 2nd save. Minnesota, with the loss, is 4-4.

The Thunder got a gift in the top of the sixth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With one out and the bases loaded, Jay Mirka reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, St. Petersburg.
