The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Curt Strickland came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Idaho Falls pitcher Lucas Simmons, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Columbia on top, 5-4.
