The Bethesda Atoms called upon starter John Baker, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 3-1. The loss drops the Turbeaus to 2-6.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Atoms had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when second baseman Brody Peck hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Danny Hill and made the score 1-0, Atoms. Peck went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"I'm happy we won," said Baker. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
