The Mancelona Torch picked up a win at Torch Field, taking down the Washington Generals, 4-3. Starting pitcher Scott Goff was a big reason why. Goff yielded 3 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-1. Ernest Pollard picked up his 2nd save of the season.

The Torch got an important contribution from left fielder Justin Cox, who in the bottom of the second hit a full count curveball to right for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Torch ahead, 3-2.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Cox told the Mancelona Times.

The loss has the Generals at 3-3.
