A 3-RBI performance from pinch hitter Bill Matthews led the Crescent City Krewe to a win over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 4-1. Will Gordon snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2.1 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Diego Ramírez closed it out for his 1st save.

Crescent City took the lead on Matthews's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Jerry Shaw in the bottom of the seventh, made the score 4-1, Crescent City.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Squirrel Hill manager Luis Pamparacuatro.
