Cangrejos Fantasmas Score Late to Nip Miners, 2-1
|
Pedro Cabral played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas win against the Marquette Miners. The winner in relief was Dwayne Castillo. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. Mario Pérez earned the save, his 3rd, for the Cangrejos Fantasmas.
Chesapeake used the timely hitting of Danny Belcher to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Pedro gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Chesapeake manager John Moore.
Chesapeake has a record of 8-3.
