The timely hitting of Nick Everett helped the Crescent City Krewe down the Marquette Miners, 8-2. Everett was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Krewe. Marquette is 9-3 after the defeat.

The Krewe got an important contribution from catcher Truman Miner, who in the top of the second hit a changeup to right for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Krewe ahead, 5-1.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Miner told the Crescent City Bulletin.
