Niagara Falls right-hander Francisco Sánchez helped his team edge Alameda by the score of 1-0. Sánchez kept the opposing lineup in check. Garry Davis was credited with the save for Niagara Falls, his 1st of the season. Alameda, with the loss, is 4-2.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Expos had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when designated hitter Ken Baker hit a run-scoring single. The single came off José López and made the score 1-0, Expos. Baker went 1 for 3.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Baker told the Niagara Falls Herald.
