Mariachis Take Tight Tangle

The Marquette Miners got a superb performance from pitcher Marcus Thomas, but the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis still won the game, 4-3. Thomas threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Marquette, with the loss, is 7-7.
Richard Anderson was the walk-off hero for Nuevo Mexico. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mariachis designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Nuevo Mexico manager Allen Carlson.
