Gwinnett Defeated by Gulf Coast, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Gulf Coast Turbeaus and the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, pitcher Mark Milligan was the difference between victory and defeat. The Gulf Coast right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Turbeaus win. In 7 innings, Milligan surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Brandon Martin nailed down the save.
Mark Glenn cracked a home run off Rod Pritchard in the bottom of the sixth. His solo blast put the Turbeaus on top, 2-1. In all, Glenn had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Turbeaus manager Neal Davis.
The setback makes the Guinea Pigs 5-9.
