Screaming Eagles Upend Krewe, 5-3
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles took Crescent City pitcher Miguel Romero's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Field of the Krewe. The final score had Mercer Island getting past the Krewe, 5-3. Romero went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Manny Sexton picked up the save, his 2nd. With the win, Mercer Island climbs to 5-9.

Mercer Island used the timely hitting of Julius Hicks to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Screaming Eagles manager Eric Todd. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
