Guinea Pigs Suffer 5-4 Loss to Miners
|
The Marquette Miners and Gwinnett Guinea Pigs played an entertaining game for Experimental Stadium patrons.
The Marquette Miners handed the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs a 5-4 defeat at Experimental Stadium. Left Fielder Francisco Ferreira starred for Marquette. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bryan Ogle snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Juan Martínez suffered the loss. Darryl Brady wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
Ferreira had a crucial hit for Marquette with no one out in the top of the fifth. With Marquette trailing 3-2, Ferreira hit a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Miners ahead, 4-3.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Ferreira.
With the win, Marquette lifts its record to 10-5.
