Pierogis first baseman Joe Elliott put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Vancouver Vipers. Elliott went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk for Squirrel Hill in the contest. Jeff McElroy was the winner. He's now 1-3. The loser was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Ríos. Abraham Catron was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

The Pierogis got a big hit from shortstop Bruce King. In the bottom of the sixth, King smacked a 2-run double off Vancouver pitcher Juan Ríos. It was his 3rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Pierogis were ahead, 5-4.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Elliott. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

Squirrel Hill is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 4th in 15 games.
