Burke Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Chiefs Win, 4-3
|
Caldwell first baseman Cecil Burke was instrumental in helping the Chiefs triumph, 4-3, over the Niagara Falls Expos. Burke was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Jerry Armstrong. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 3. Steve Thomas collected save number 2.
In the first inning, Burke had a 2-run home run for Caldwell. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Chiefs on top, 2-0.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Niagara Falls skipper Joe Gregory.
With the win, Caldwell improves its record to 2-5.
