Mercer Island Wins, 7-6, Over Krewe
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles wiggled past the Crescent City Krewe, 7-6, at Mercer Island Grounds. The win was highlighted by the performance of Mercer Island catcher Martín Rodríguez. Mercer Island pitcher Manny Sexton got the win. He's now 3-1. Bruce Cunningham was tagged with the loss. The Screaming Eagles have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 16 games.

The Screaming Eagles got a clutch hit from right fielder Pedro Cortés. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Screaming Eagles.

"Nice to get this one," said Rodríguez. "We've been scuffling."
