Loony Bin was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Minnesota Loons and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles.
Minnesota Loons starter Wan-hua Ping hurled his team past the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 3-2. Ping, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing no runs.
The Screaming Eagles had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Loons going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Christian Gray came to the plate. Gray hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 cutter from Mercer Island hurler Sixto Espinosa. It was Gray's 3rd home run of the year.
Minnesota manager Eddie O'Bryan commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The win moves Minnesota to a record of 11-6.
