Airmen Earn 7-3 Home Win
|
Alameda pitcher Alfonso Sánchez had a large part in his team beating the Idaho Falls Chukars, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 6 innings, Sánchez surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. Alameda is now 2-5.
In the bottom of the sixth, Alameda designated hitter Chris Rodríguez put his team on top. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 1st home run of the year. Idaho Falls pitcher Allan Novillo served it up. Just like that, the Airmen were ahead, 4-3.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Rodríguez.
