Vipers 4-2 Victors Over Turbeaus
Starting pitcher Luis Palma was a major factor in the 4-2 Vancouver Vipers triumph over the Gulf Coast Turbeaus. Vancouver reliever Luis Palma got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Gordon Taylor was tagged with the loss. Bobby Spears, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.

The Vipers got an important contribution from left fielder Patrick Nichols, who in the bottom of the third hit a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Vipers ahead, 4-0.

Vancouver manager Rafael Longoria was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.

The win leaves Vancouver with a record of 11-6.
