The Bethesda Atoms wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Anthony Samuels, falling, 1-0, to the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles in 10 innings at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island goes to 10-7.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ali Aghamirzaeijenaghard in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jeffery Newsome to win the game for Mercer Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Aghamirzaeijenaghard said, postgame.
