Wacher Powers Thunder Offense
The home crowd had a good time watching the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Toronto Thunder get after it.

A 8-RBI performance from Douglas Wacher, who is tied for 8th in the PL in home runs with 16, helped the Toronto Thunder beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 16-7. Toronto, at 54-39, holds down third place in the Premier League.

Wacher contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Toronto in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Wacher took a fastball from Kip Hill and stroked the home run to left. His 16th home run of the season allowed the Thunder to leap in front, 2-1.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jordan Smith.
