Dane Kennedy was a vital contributor to the 6-4 Mercer Island victory over Crescent City. The Screaming Eagles left fielder was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. Mercer Island reliever Henry Ball picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Paikea Hotu was saddled with the loss. Manny Sexton earned the save for Mercer Island, his 1st.
Mercer Island took the lead, 6-4, on Jorge González's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Crescent City pitcher Paikea Hotu in the bottom of the eighth.
Mercer Island manager Eric Todd called it "a pretty good win."
The defending champion Screaming Eagles are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 6th win in 18 games.
