Field of the Rawhides was the site of a competitive game between the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and Marquette Miners.

Joe Winters brought his A-game to help Marquette defeat the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-1. The save was credited to Darryl Brady, his 7th.

Francisco Vargas, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in triples with 1, had a direct impact on the outcome. Vargas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Marquette up, 1-0.

"Tough loss," said Squirrel Hill manager Luis Pamparacuatro. "But we'll learn from it."

The Pierogis, at 5-14, have stumbled out of the gate.
