Though he had a stellar game, Alfredo Gómez could not prevent his team, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, from losing, 7-3, to the Seattle Rocketeers. Gómez went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Rodrigo Herrera got the win, improving to 5-6. He held the Rainbow Mermaids to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. With the win, Seattle has a record of 45-48. Northern Virginia falls to 50-43.

The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the second inning, when the Rocketeers were trailing 3-2. McFlurry Beck delivered a two-out 2-run double for Seattle, catapulting his team into the lead.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Seattle manager Andrew Powell.
