A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Olympia Ogres and St. Petersburg Thunder.
The Olympia Ogres dealt the St. Petersburg Thunder a 6-3 loss at The Ogre Den. Milton Scott was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Rich Banks, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 1-2.
The Ogres got a big hit from left fielder Ricardo Cantú. Facing St. Petersburg pitcher Alfonso Escamilla in the bottom of the fifth, Cantú pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 3rd double of the season put the Ogres ahead, 4-3.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Cantú.
With the win, Olympia goes to 9-12, while the Thunder fall to 11-10.
