Vipers Hand Nuevo Mexico 4-2 Loss
|
The Vancouver Vipers converted a terrific effort from starter Luis Palma into a win over the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis at Mariachi Band Shell. The Vipers won the game by a final score of 4-2. Palma got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Bill Carson closed the game out for Vancouver, earning his 1st save.
Vancouver used the stroke of Rick Henshaw-Jacobs to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Vipers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Vancouver skipper Rafael Longoria.
The Vipers now have a record of 10-11 with the win over Nuevo Mexico.
