The Ithaca Fighting Imps topped the Providence Pilgrims, 4-3, in USPL Double A action at Field of Plenty. The standout performance belonged to Ithaca pitcher and Chungho, Taiwan, native Wan-hua Yi. Yi, now 1-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The Pilgrims, at 6-15, have lost 5 in a row.

Ithaca used the timely hitting of Mark Doss to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Ithaca manager Albert Pérez was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
