The Bethesda Atoms got a marvelous performance from pitcher Rodrigo Herrera. The left-hander kept the Minnesota offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Bethesda victory at Loony Bin. Herrera got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Picking up the save was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Michael Humphreys.
Bethesda used a clutch at-bat from Patrice Ragot to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Atoms ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Bethesda manager Cody Blackburn commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
With the victory, the Atoms upped their record to 14-8.
