Brandon Whitney pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Crescent City Krewe, despite Whitney's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium. Bryan Ogle, now 3-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. Francis Davis finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Crescent City had the bases loaded in the top of the sixth. With two out, Filip Hejkl stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he struck out. The score remained 2-0, Marquette. The Krewe never could mount a comeback.

With the victory, the Miners upped their record to 13-9.
