The Vancouver Vipers locked up a win at Vipers Ballpark, knocking off the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 4-2. On the mound for Vancouver was right-hander Gil Burke. He played a major role in the triumph. Bill Carson recorded the save for Vancouver, his 2nd of the season. With the win, the Vipers improved to 11-11.

With no one out in the top of the fourth, Micheal Ball had a chance to do some damage. Mercer Island was trailing 3-0, but had the bases loaded. Ball came to the plate against Gil Burke, and hit into a double play. But it was not enough to complete a Mercer Island comeback.
