White Walkers Deal Shredders 2-1 Loss
|
Zander Daig was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at The Hollywood Bowl. In fact, the Buffalo White Walkers right-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-1 victory over the Hollywood Shredders. Daig yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-5. Ben van de Loo, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Godspower Nwawuihe, who is tied for 9th in the PL in bases on balls with 40, took Hollywood hurler Alex Thompson deep in the top of the third. His 2-run home run put the White Walkers on top, 2-0. In all, Nwawuihe had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Tough loss," said Hollywood manager TJ Reynolds. "But that's how the cookie crumbles."
The 8th-place Shredders dropped to 41-52.
