Alex Thompson was superb against Boston. The right-hander had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Shredders victory. The score was 4-2. In 6 innings, Thompson surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Hollywood is now 52-41.
The Shredders got a big at-bat from third baseman José Vera, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Shredders on top, 3-1.
"I had a good game plan," said Thompson. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Bill Cheese said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
