The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Cody Hull, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mercer Island Grounds by a final score of 5-3 in 11 innings. Hull went 9.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. With the victory, the Screaming Eagles record stands at 11-13.
Julius Hicks played the role of hero for Mercer Island. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a 2-run home run off Tim Jones to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
