Getting offensive support from Heimo Siurulainen, the Matlacha Manatees topped the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 4-3. Siurulainen went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Manatees. Matlacha is now 6-2.
Siurulainen had a timely hit for Matlacha in the bottom of the eighth. With Matlacha trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-0 splitter into a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 4-3, Matlacha.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Matlacha manager Howard Lee.
