Yi-da Gui pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Matlacha Manatees, despite Gui's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Pontiac Godfathers at Fuller Park. Pontiac has a record of 6-2.
It could have been a different outcome for Pontiac, had it not been for Juan Gonzáles, the 23-year old shortstop . Gonzáles contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Pontiac up, 3-2.
"We found a way to get it done," Gonzáles said.
