The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the St. Petersburg Thunder in 10 innings, 12-7, in part because of first baseman Jesús Rosário. Rosário went 2 for 6 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Screaming Eagles. Mercer Island reliever Jared Wilson was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Troy Edwards. Mercer Island is now 17-7.

Mercer Island used a clutch hit from David Acevedo to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 9-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Acevedo. "It eases the tension."
