Vancouver pitcher Sergio Pagán had a large part in his team beating the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7.1 innings, Pagán surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Bill Carson nailed down the save.

The Vancouver win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Scott Mayes. In the bottom of the fourth, the Vancouver catcher came to bat and hit a bases-clearing triple. It staked his team to a 4-1 lead.

Mayes called the triumph "a good team win."

At 12-12, the Vipers are currently 4th in the Premier AA.
