The St. Petersburg Thunder did just enough to sneak past the Olympia Ogres, 4-3, at Baby Thunder Dome. St. Petersburg pitcher Stan Coffey, in particular, had a standout performance. Teijo Hagman earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. St. Petersburg bumps their record to 11-14 with the win.

Greg Harrington was the walk-off hero for St. Petersburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Stan went out and did what we needed," said St. Petersburg manager Terrence Eler.
