Wells drives in 5 runs to Ignite Generals Offense
|
The Washington Generals defeated the Idaho Falls Chukars, 11-8, in part because of designated hitter Ray Wells. Wells was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 for the Generals. Poto Bagliani picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 2 in 6.1 innings. Pedro Puglisi picked up the save, his 4th.
Wells made an early impact for Washington when he stroked his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Generals on top, 6-0.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Generals manager Kyu-cheol Kye. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
Washington is now 5-4.
