Miners Sneak Past Guinea Pigs, 1-0
|
Joseph Campbell brought his A-game to help Marquette defeat the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 1-0. Jody Dunn picked up the save, his 9th. With the win, the Miners have a record of 15-11.
Marquette used the timely hitting of José Cabrera to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Miners on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Cabrera said.
