The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Charles Siddorn to a win, beating the Olympia Ogres, 6-2, at The Ogre Den. Siddorn, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Today's win puts Mercer Island at 14-12, while Olympia falls to 10-16.
Mercer Island left fielder Jiao-long Tow helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.
Siddorn attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
