Toledo Rallies for 4-2 Win
|
Crescent City got a terrific performance from pitcher Vincent Sturm, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Saboteurs. Toledo won the Field of the Krewe contest, 4-2. Sturm threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Allan Reid, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. Lonnie Burton picked up the save, his 8th.
Toledo used a clutch hit from Oscar Morton to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Saboteurs ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"I really like what we did out there today," Morton said after the game.
Crescent City's current losing streak is now 4 games.
